Fishermen on the quayside at Manaus fish market selling their catches from the Amazon and Rio Negro rivers to merchants. 2005 saw the worst drought in the region for 60 years which affected fish sizes and catches. Declining catches were also blamed on the loss of river habitats due to deforestation of the Amazonian rainforest.
