A memorial stone in the John Lennon memorial garden at Durness, Sutherland on Scotland's north coast. Local people established the tribute to the murdered Beatles musician and inaugurated an annual music festival in his honour. The village of Durness had a population of around 400 and was situated in one of the most sparsely-populated areas of Europe.
