Looking down Glenfinnan with the Jacobite memorial to Bonnie Prince Charlie at the water's edge. The monument, owned by the National Trust for Scotland, was a popular destination for tourists. It commemorated the life of Charles Edward Stuart, known as Bonnie Prince Charlie, the Young Pretender, who attempted to seize the British throne in the Jacobite rebellion of 1745.
