People make stories. For three decades, I have worked in the media, photographing for many of the most prestigious and prominent newspapers and magazines. These sit with numerous commercial assignments which have brought me into contact with many extraordinary and amazing people, and allowed me a front-row seat during some of the major national and international stories at home and abroad.

The son of acclaimed journalist and writer William Rees-Mogg, at the age of 28, this was his first attempt to win a seat at Westminster however he was soundly beaten by the eventual winner Henry McLeish MP. Jacob Rees-Mogg was elected as Member of Parliament for North East Somerset in 2010.

The island of Eigg was one of a chain of islands which lie of Scotland's west coast and was accessible by a state-run lifeline service from the mainland. The residents on Eigg organised a buy-out of the island in the late 1990s and took it into community ownership.

30 imagesChampion black pudding maker Andy Holt and his traditional Bury black puddings which he is taking to the Concour du Meilleur Boudin Noir, Europe's most prestigious festival celebrating the black pudding which takes place from 14-16 March 2008. The annual competition, which is staged in the ancient country town of Mortagne au Perche in Normandy, France, attracts around 300 pudding makers from across Europe and is judged by Les Chevaliers du Goute Boudin, or Knights of the Black Pudding, who award prizes for the best entrants. Mr Holt's company, R. S. Ireland, is based in Haslingden, Lancashire, employing around 15 people making over 300 tonnes of black pudding each year.

42 imagesTom Jones, the last mussel fisherman who uses traditional raking methods to collect the mussels, setting out in his boat to fish near his home at Conwy, north Wales, with the castle in the background. Mr Jones works with his father, Trevor and grandfather Ken in the family business located at Conwy quay. The season lasted from the end of September to April, during which the Jones' company, Conwy Mussels, would harvest 20-30 tonnes from local estuary and river.

Founded by Alison Lea-Wilson and her husband David in 1997 after discovering they could make organic sea salt from the waters of the nearby Menai Straights.
