A spectator watching the pre-match warm-up at Yockings Park before Whitchurch Alport hosted Cammell Laird 1907 in the 2017-18 North West Counties Division One play-off final. Alport were formed in 1946 and were named after Alport Farm, Whitchurch, which had been the home of a local footballer Coley Maddocks who had been killed in action in the war. The home team won the match 2-1 watched by a crowd of 773, a club record attendance.
