Engineers on the ground working on the last remaining 11 tonne blade on a 2.5 megawatt wind turbine at Alexandra Dock in Liverpool. The three 45 metre blades were lifted onto the 80 metre towers using two cranes and were assembled by a team from Germany after arriving in sections from the manufacturers in Rostock. The month-long operation was undertaken by the docks' owners, Peel Holdings, and was a £15m investment which will generate power for the docks and around 5500 nearby homes.
