The former Liverpool Airport building at Speke, south Liverpool. This facility was replaced by the John Lennon International Airport. Liverpool, with a population of around 750,000, is one of the most important cities in north west England famous for its docks and maritime heritage and as birthplace of the Beatles. Liverpool was 2008 European Capital of Culture.
