Kathryn Jones discusses the condition of her three-and-a-half-week-old son Finn with consultant Dr Tim Watts at the paediatric intensive care unit at Evelina London Children's Hospital in central London. The son of Philip and Kathryn Jones from Canterbury, Kent, Finn was born with a pre-diagnosed condition which required a life-saving, five-hour heart 'switch' operation to be carried out within the first two weeks of his life. The operation, which took place when Finn was 10 days old was successful, however, due to other near fatal complications the his recovery during the subsequent six weeks was slow and difficult.
