'Demolition Day, 2014' from the project 'The Fall and Rise of Ravenscraig' by photographer Colin McPherson.
Image shows a man in his garden on the day of the demolition of the former Ravenscraig steelworks in July 1996.
This project, photographed in 2014, looks at the topography of the post-industrial landscape at Ravenscraig, the site until its closure in 1992 of the largest hot strip steel mill in western Europe. In its current state, Ravenscraig is one of the largest derelict sites in Europe measuring over 1,125 acres (4.55 km2) in size, an area equivalent to 700 football pitches or twice the size of Monaco. It is currently being developed with a mix of housing, retail and the home of South Lanarkshire College and the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility.
