People walking through the streets during a spontaneous march to mobilise support for a pro-independence vote in the Craigmillar district of Edinburgh on the day of the independence referendum. Yes Scotland were campaigning for the country to leave the United Kingdom, whilst Better Together were campaigning for Scotland to remain in the UK. On the 18th of September 2014, the people of Scotland voted in a referendum to decide whether the country's union with England should continue or Scotland should become an independent nation once again and leave the United Kingdom.
