The Palais Salaam hotel in the southern Moroccan city of Taroudant. Taroudant in the Sous Valley, was situated east from Agadir on the road to Ouarzazate and south from Marrakech. Known for its jewellery and carpets, Taroudant's golden age came under the reign of Mohammed ash-Sheikh, who constructed the city walls and built the great mosque and its beautiful minaret in 935AD. By the 21st century it was a popular holiday destination for tourists.
