Turbines in Liverpool Bay, part of the Burbo Offshore Wind Farm being built off the coast of North Wirral. Construction began in 2006 with the installation of the foundations. The wind turbines will be generating electricity by the end of 2007. Burbo Offshore will consist of 25 turbines, each capable of producing 3.6 MW of electricity generating up to 90MW of clean, renewable energy for the next 25 years - enough electricity for over 75,000 homes or 12% of all the houses in Merseyside.
